Aquilus, from Latin, describes a dark hue. Connected to the words Aquila, (the eagle or 'dark bird'), and Aquilō; a name for the North Wind and the dark storm clouds it carries. These trace back to Aqua (water), the source and formation of gathering clouds and the promise of heavy rain.
Dark clouds are a metaphor for inevitable but often unseen engineering risk, that carries the potential for disruptive failures and change.
